Spherial cells 2-2,5 micron diameter growing on trees,fences etc.and having a flat plate-like acilse chloroplast with a lobed edge and central pyrenoid. A constituent of some lichens. Sometimes difficult to distinguish from a species of Chlorella (15) that is also common on trees but the Chlorella has a parietal chloroplast .
