Draparnaldia

Draparnaldia

Cells resemble those of Ulothrix with a band-shaped chloroplast but the whole plant has a feathery look with central axis of large cells 50 micron or so across in the older parts bearing branched tufts of much narrower cells at intervals. Standing and running water especially in the spring forming conspicuous bright green tufts up to 5 cm long on stones etc.
